Two Blogs!? Creators.co

Wow. God is good.

Recently I was contacted by Creators.co, a really awesome site that is not only a great blogging platform, but a place for people to come together and share about what they’re passionate about. This site is a sister site to the primary site, Movie Pilot (their bio: “We are a pop-culture digital magazine and social publisher with a difference: our content is created by fans, for fans.”); and is also a sister site with Now Loading (video games), and Champions (Mixed Martial Arts).

Basically, it’s a huge network of awesome and passionate creators from a wide range of subjects. Truly something to get excited about!

So now, the announcement: I’ll be juggling between writing TWO blogs! That means TWICE the content for you all to read! My first featured piece, “Success – What It Is, and What It Isn’t“, can be found by clicking this link or the title.

In terms of what you’ll get over there at my Creators.co blog, it will be generally the same content subject-wise; I’m keeping to my mantra of “faith, fitness, and footwork”. The only difference is that you might see different, completely fresh, new pieces over there, that you can only read from there. There might be some cross posts from F3 For Answers as well, but rest assured, some content will be different.

This is still my primary blog though, so expect this blog to always be updated first and foremost!

Thank you for reading and following my blog, and I hope that as we continue moving forward together, we can continue to enjoy the ride.

The Sunshine Blogger Award!?

sunshine-blogger-award1

Wow, so this was unexpected. I am extremely humbled and grateful to my brother, OaktownVibes, for nominating me as a recipient for the “Sunshine Blogger Award”! This award is given to bloggers from around the blogosphere that bring inspiration and positivity to their readers and fellow bloggers. It also happens to be a great way to see some of the fantastic content that other bloggers post from a variety of backgrounds and places.

To give a little more love to OaktownVibes, this is one of the first blogs I ever started following when I got into blogging. His mix of motivation and powerful inspiration, with a good dose of realness, attracted me instantly into reading. It’s his posts like, “Drown out the negativity by saying yes,” that strike me to amazement—he has a passion for pushing people into positive territory. And honestly, the world needs more people like him, I think.

Go check out his blog, give him a follow, and really read his content—it will put a lot of things in perspective!

Here are the rules of the award:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you.
  2. Answer the questions from your nominator.
  3. Nominate fellow bloggers you follow.
  4. Give them 10 questions to answer.

Nominations:
MOTIVATION with DEHAN
Mackmarie
The Showers of Blessing

Each one of these blogs provides some amazing insight, and writes super thought-provoking content! Not only that, but most importantly, they all write very real and powerful posts, and aren’t afraid to show who they are in the process. I have all the respect in the world for that, and so I nominated them! You should give them a follow and check them out! They’re truly awesome blogs!

Feel free, if you were nominated, to participate fully, or if not, that’s okay too! Just know that I really appreciate your blogs and what you write and do, from the bottom of my heart.

Let’s get to the ten questions:

  1. Where are you originally from?

I am originally from South Korea–a small town named Yesan-gun, to be exact! I was adopted at a very early age, like 9 months old or so, and was raised in an also equally small American town in Indiana. Suffice to say, it was a lateral move–both small towns, both good communities. Fun fact, when I lived in South Korea for 3 years, I did in fact take a vacation in my birth town, and cried at a church there from all the pent up emotion.

  2. What is your ultimate passion in life?

This is a truly tough question, but I think my clear number one is to communicate to all different types of people the notion that not all Christ-centered, faith believing people are close minded, un-empathetic, judgmental individuals. It’s a lifestyle, yes, but look, I’m a B-boy (which many have noted is not an entirely “Christian” arena, but that shouldn’t matter anyway scripturally), I like real Hip-Hop, and I know I have a 2×4 plank in my own eye. It’s a sad state of affairs that the world is so set on pitting everyone against their mom and their neighbors, so my main passion is trying to educate people, be loving to everyone, and show people why a true, Christ-driven lifestyle doesn’t mean you are compromising anything.

  3. What type of impact do you desire to make with your blog?

The whole goal at the onset of creating this blog was just to uplift people. I want to encourage Christians and non-Christians alike that they do have a purpose; that hope is not lost, and that values and character still are a powerful force for changing lives in the world. In all honesty, I just want to push people in a positive direction and make a small difference in their lives, one person at a time, because I truly enjoy doing that.

  4. What book would you recommend to your audience and why?

I’m an avid reader, having studied English in university, so I think there are one too many books floating in my head. If you want an epic science-fiction series, go read Ender’s Game written by Orson Scott Card, then proceed to read the whole series! The movie wasn’t too horrible, either, but as is usual, the book was better. Bonus book: Toughness: Developing True Strength On and Off the Court by Jay Bilas, because it was super motivational and a good reflective book on how to handle adversity.

  5. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I am being completely honest, I already accomplished this in going back to my birth country of South Korea. I had been dreaming of that journey since I was a mere child, and I knew God was going to give me the opportunity to experience my culture one day. Good news is I can always go back whenever, hassle free! I already went to Japan too, twice, so…there goes that idea. Hmmm…China then, is the next logical choice! So I would go with China because they are so tied with Korea and Japan historically, and I have friends there.

  6. Who has influenced you the most?

My parents, bar none. My father taught me the values of being a man of character, and of having a powerful work ethic. I posted this in one of my earlier write-ups, but he is the literal embodiment of “started from the bottom now we’re here”, and worked his way up the business ladder to truly provide for my family–all while sacrificing a lot of his happiness and time. My mom is just as worthy of that title. She had a not-so-ideal home life, and also worked her butt off to become a truly independent working woman. Both of them instilled in me the values of sticking to your guns, believing in yourself no matter what people tell you, and for better or for worse, putting your foot down and standing your ground. I love them to death and am so blessed to have them as my parents!

  7. If you could meet anyone in the world (past or present) and spend time picking their brain, who would it be and why?

Besides Jesus, which is a pretty obvious answer, I would really love to talk to Abraham Lincoln. I want to truly hear his ideals and what made him such a great figure in our country’s history. That guy is a legend, and did so much for our nation both morally and literally that it astounds me.

  8. If you could have any trait, what would it be and why?

I think it would be to have to be…being less prone to injury. I am on a string of injuries lately from breaking–not even doing anything dangerous or hard–and because of that I am having a frustrating time of making progress dance wise. However, I think they’re necessary to have me focus on other things, so, there’s that.

  9. What makes you happy?

Seeing people succeed at their passions truly makes me happy. Being able to help people overcome obstacles, and see the blessings and positivity in the ugly parts of life makes me happy. At the end of the day, I think our goals should be sharing our gifts to make others better and giving them an equal opportunity at making the impossible, possible.

  10. When you die and you leave a legacy, what is the message that you wish to leave with the world?

“The pursuit of perfection is an impossible endeavor. Only one Man can, and has ever, achieved that. But with this knowledge, know that the pursuit is not fruitless–rather, it bears an undeniable amount of goodness to be harvested and reaped. It is through our pursuit that we educate ourselves about our weaknesses, and strengthen our resolve to fight for our destinies; our dreams. It is through that pursuit that we prove, to even ourselves, that our limits are meant to be tested and broken. It is through that very pursuit that we can light not only our lives, but other’s lives around us, with passion and vigor and see to it that we all discover new horizons together. Don’t quit. Cry, maybe–but as those tears dry, know that your vision has only become more clearer to continue looking ahead.”

ICYMI: In Case You Missed It #2

Really grateful to God for the opportunities He is giving me! I’m even more glad that I’m being used to help people with a variety of stuff through writing–fitness, health, lifestyle and the like.

I was just published as a guest writer for the weight loss blog WeightLossLikeBoss! Here is my article about the myth of “Spot Reduction” titled, The Spot Reduction Myth Explained – How to Really Cut Fat.

I hope we can all continue to work hard towards whatever our goals are, and be supportive of each other! The process may seem long, but you’re never alone in the climb.
