Line – Poetry

Line

A period of interest, the search not arduous to find
The matters that befit the seasons like sunshine
You talk to your neighbor, your friend to confide
Come to find out you’re not swimming the same tide

You seek a shelter, a space perfect to hide
The getaway as elusive as proof to the crime
Feelings get knotted, continuously climb
They root deep in your heart; indomitable vine

Definition gets blurry, forms begin to collide
Opinions and facts become too hard to surmise
You feel in your heart if you cease effort or try
Opportunity is lost and will pass too far by

Know this as a truth, in a dreary day’s sky
With God at your back, you’ve already won the tie
So when you look at an issue, look straight in its eye

Blurry vision becomes clear when you’ve defined your own line.
